Welcome!
The Omokoroa Peninsula Baptist Church was started five years ago as a new church plant by the Katikati and Bethlehem Baptist Churches. We meet in the Settlers' Hall (just under 2km from State Highway #2 on the Omokoroa Peninsula Road) Sundays at 10am. We also meet in various homes during the week for Bible study, prayer and mutual encouragement.
We are largely those in the "second half of life" (though not all elderly!) with a Sunday School (small!) as required.
We endeavour to be relevant to the community, and two or three times a year invite others to join us for relevant events. This year we have had as guest speakers Dr Jeff Tallon, eminent New Zealand scientist (and Christian) ... Rodney Macann, international opera singer ... and on the 18th December will have as our guest international recording artist Gabrielle Gregor who will be both singing and accompanying herself on the acoustic harp.
We welcome our frequent visitors, and are committed to help people wherever there is need.
Our part time pastor is Gerard Marks, a semi retired Baptist Pastor who has served in New Zealand and overseas (in international churches in Papua New Guinea and Japan) for nearly 50 years. They still have energy, and Gerard preaches most Sundays and they both visit people in their homes. If you would like to talk to them or have a visit, call them on 544 9847.
